I am excited to be joining you on this journey. Below is an explanation about what each week and day will look like when you join me daily for Latin.
Each Week is divided into 4 days. When you click on each day, you will see a short explanation about that day's focus followed by 5 sections titled: Watch, Read, Memorize, Study, Do. See below for a description about each section.
Nota Bene: Make sure to CLICK the completed box in the bottom right once you have finished that days videos and exercises.
WATCH: Here you will find a short video to watch. Generally this will be less than 12 minutes, but in the beginning they may run a bit longer to get up to speed with all of the new information.
READ: Pages being referred to from the Henle text that can be read to review the concept for that day.
MEMORIZE: Here you will have a short video introducing the newest vocabulary and we will walk through highlighting it in the ZTL Resource Notebook.
STUDY: Here you will find the grammar rule numbers that are referenced from the Grammar Blue Book that are being focused on that day or week.
DO: I will assign exercises to be completed each day. There will be a short video for each of the exercises, giving an example on how to do each one.
If this is your first time joining a Zoom Thru Latin class or workshop, make sure to watch these 3 sections before you begin Week 1 lessons. These sections will help you to get your resources ready for Lesson 1.
Nota bene: I updated my Resource Notebook July 2023. If your copy was printed before this, you will want an updated version.
We will take 2 weeks to cover nouns from first declension.
This week is a bit heavier in exercises than some of the previous weeks. It is a great time to do some of the Latin to English exercises orally with a parent. I want to encourage you to do the hard work, it will build the foundation you need as you move forward in the curriculum. It will increase your vocabulary knowledge and strengthen that "doing hard things" muscle at the same time. You've got this!!!
Now that we have learned how to decline adjectives from 1st & 2nd Declension adjectives, find out how to use them in the sentence patters S-Vl-PA.
